The catalogue is compiled from public sources — notably the Petrucci Music Library (IMSLP) and Wikidata — then sorted and corrected by hand. Composer portraits come from Wikimedia Commons, where each file gives its author and licence. Scores and recordings stay on the sites that host them; Octoopus links to them.

Intellectual property

The design, texts and code of the site belong to its publisher. Data taken from the sources above remain under their own licences. Content shared by members (covers, threads, comments) remains theirs: see the terms of use.
