Terms of use

The service
Octoopus is a free catalogue of Western classical music: works, composers, versions and arrangements, with links to scores and recordings hosted elsewhere. Browsing needs no account; an account lets you keep a library, follow composers and threads, and take part in the community.
Your account
You give accurate information and keep your password to yourself. You can delete your account at any time from your account's Security tab.
What you share
- Covers are links to your own recordings (on YouTube for now). Share only what you performed or have the right to share.
- Threads, replies and comments stay on topic: the music, its performance, its scores.
- No insults, harassment, hateful content, advertising, spam, or personal data of other people.
You keep the rights on what you share, and you allow Octoopus to show it on the site for as long as it stays published.
Moderation
Covers are reviewed before they appear. Any content can be reported with its “Report” button; the publisher may hide or remove content that breaks these terms, and suspend an account that keeps doing so.
The catalogue
The catalogue is compiled with care from public sources, but it may contain mistakes: tell us, we correct them. Scores and recordings are offered by the sites that host them, under their own conditions.
Changes
These terms may change as the site evolves; the date at the top says when they last did. Questions: by e-mail at info@octoopus.art, or through the contact page.
